Big results in God’s kingdom often start very small. Jesus explained it this way:
“To what shall we liken the Kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it? It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds of the earth; but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.” – Mark 4:30-32 NKJV
The contrast between the size of the seed and the mature plant has everything to do with the Designer. Inside of the tiny seed is the complete information for large sturdy branches. It may start very small, but once placed in the ground, the process begins and growth follows. However, as amazing as it is, even a mustard seed must be actually sown in order to produce something. It can be something done, said, given-up, started, shared, prayed for, and more. What “mustard-seed” do you need to sow in faith today?
