The Lord’s Day 6-11-17

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stand upright. Save Lord! May the King answer us when we call.” – Psalm 20:7-9 NKJV

Trust reflects a confidence placed in something or someone. Do you trust God today? He has been, is now, and always will be faithful to those who trust Him.

Psalm 23-He Leads Me

“He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” – Psalm 23:3b NKJV

“When the desire for self-assertion, self-aggrandizement, self-pleasing gives way to the desire for simply pleasing God and others, much of the fret and strain is drained away from daily living. A hallmark of the serene soul is the absence of “drive”, at least “drive” for self-determination. The person who is prepared to put his personal life and personal affairs in the Master’s hands for His management and direction has found the place of rest in fresh fields each day. These are the ones who find time and energy to please others.”

– W. Phillip Keller, “A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23”

“God is righteous. His decrees are righteous (Rom. 1:32). His judgment is righteous (Rom. 2:5). His requirements are righteous (Rom. 8:4). His acts are righteous (Dan. 9:16). Daniel declared, ‘Our God is right in everything he does’ (Dan. 9:14). God is never wrong. He has never rendered a wrong decision, experienced a wrong attitude, taken the wrong path, said the wrong thing, or acted the wrong way. He is never too late or too early, too loud or soft, too fast or too slow. He has always been and always will be right. He is righteous.”

– Max Lucado, “Traveling Light”

When we follow His lead, the destination is right. Are you willing to let Him lead you along His path today?

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” – Psalm 23:1-3 NKJV

The Lord’s Day 5-28-17

But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.” – Psalm 37:39-40 NKJV

From where do you draw your strength today? In Him there is help, deliverance, and salvation for those who trust in His mighty name. May you walk in that confidence today.

The Lord’s Day 3-5-17

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth- Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.” – Psalm 40:1-3 NKJV

Where has the Lord brought you from? What has He done in you? Through you? Around you? With gracious love He forgives us, secures a future for us, and blesses us with daily kindness. Will you pause and thank Him? He is worthy of worship, praise and thanks!

The Lord’s Day 2-26-17

“For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your works; I will triumph in the works of Your hands.” – Psalm 92:4 NKJV

Do thoughts of His work bring gladness to your heart today? Consider the gentleness of His care, the protection of His watch, and the comfort of His provision. For You Lord, have made me glad!

The Lord’s Day 2-19-17

“Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.” – Psalm 40:5 NKJV

There are so many things to be thankful for. God is working all around us, but His kindness is often overlooked. Are you thankful today for His wonderful works? Have you taken inventory lately of the many ways He’s been gracious to you? He deserves our thanks!

The Lord’s Day 2-12-17

“Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk O Lord in the light of Your countenance.” – Psalm 89:15 NKJV

In the presence of God, there is one posture; worship. Are you seeking to be in the presence of His glory today? To hear His voice is to sense joy deep in the soul. He’s worthy of worship!
